A Wedding to Last

There will be a separate blog post on the love story between Cynthia and her fourth husband, Noel Charles. This one is more focused on their wedding and renewal wedding. After three failed marriages, Cynthia pretty much swore never to marry again; she was in a long term relationship with Jim Christie for 17 years. However, Noel swept her off her feet so much so she agreed to marry him.
Noel and Cynthia on their wedding day, June 7, 2002

On June 7, 2002, Noel and Cynthia got married in secret. I don't know where, I'm assuming Spain where they were living. Weirdly, Cynthia didn't write where as she did with her three weddings only the date. During that time, there was a lot of hype on Paul McCartney and Heather Mills of their upcoming nuptials (June 11, 4 days later), honestly probably the perfect time to get married with peace and quiet for Cynthia and Noel. It took several months to hear about the marriage: I remember hearing about it on the internet someone posted that Cynthia introduced Noel as her husband. I recall not believing it as there was no official source and Cynthia's swear never to remarry but obviously it was very true.
UPDATE: Noel and Cynthia got married in City Hall in Toronto, Canada. Their wedding breakfast was McDonald's and champagne and spent the night at a cottage hotel.

Noel and Cynthia during their renewal wedding day on September 8, 2011

In 2011, Noel and Cynthia decided to have a renewal wedding ceremony... perhaps because the first one was private, in secret, and more likely not much of an attendance, this one would have an actual wedding with the works. Julian did the planning from the venue, food, again, the works. On September 8, 2011, Noel and Cynthia had their renewal ceremony and reception in Nice, France. The party continued into the night, socializing with Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco. I'm wondering though, as the previous year (2010), Noel diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Of course, this was kept private from the world until his death in 2013... so I'm wondering if this renewal ceremony was more than just a casual thing to celebrate their love. In retrospect, it does have a much deeper meaning to do this as Noel was ill.
