Nancy Ellen Shevell was born on November 20, 1959 in Edison, New Jersey to Myron and Arlene Walters Shevell. She had an older brother, Jon, and a younger sister, Susan. Her father is a head of a trucking company, New England Motor Freight, and her mother was an Aunt to journalist Barbara Walters. Nancy attended Arizona State University majoring in transportation business; while there, she met Bruce Blakeman, who was studying for a law degree. They married in 1984 and had a son, Arlen Walters Blakeman, in 1992. Nancy started working for her father in 1983, eventually becoming Vice-President and the board member for Metropolitan Transit Authority. After the death of her mother and the birth of her son in 1991, Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer.
During treatments, Nancy met fellow patient Linda McCartney and her husband Paul while they were annually visiting in New York, becoming friendly neighbors in the Hamptons. Some years later, while Paul was in divorce proceedings with Heather Mills, Nancy and Bruce drifted apart, separated and eventually divorced in 2009. In 2007, her cousin Barbara threw a party attended by Nancy and Paul; they got reacquainted and started to date. Paul and Nancy got engaged in May of 2011 and got married the same year on October 9th, on John Lennon's birthday.
As far as I know, Nancy and Cynthia never met.
I believe Nancy met Julian, probably at Dhani Harrison's wedding (although Julian's attendance was never technically confirmed?) but most certainly at Sir George Martin’s memorial service.
